Honest songs, patient grooves, and improvisation that shows up when it means something. That’s the lane the John Spignesi Band has stayed in since day one.
Formed in 2015, the New England trio of John Spignesi, Joe Jeffery (Bass), and Matt Alling (Drums) has built its reputation the straightforward way, by playing shows, staying consistent, and letting the music speak for itself. The songs sit at the center, direct and unfiltered, giving the band room to stretch when the moment calls for it. When things open up live, it feels earned, not automatic.
Known for shows that settle in and build naturally, JSB leans into feel over flash. There’s a familiarity to the experience, like reconnecting with something you didn’t realize you missed. That connection has helped grow a dedicated audience over the years, driven largely by word of mouth and time spent on stage.
The band has also documented its entire run along the way, recording every performance and steadily releasing both live and studio material, creating a catalog that reflects exactly where they’ve been, night by night.
In 2026, JSB released a studio album produced by Scott Murawski, marking their first time working with an outside producer. The record captures the band clearly, without stepping away from the foundation they’ve built over years of playing together.
If you’ve spent time with the band, you’ve probably heard it before. Be safe, be well, and be good to each other.
