It is their first release as a duo. Due to the global COVID-19 Pandemic, Spignesi & Jeffery were limited to only playing outside gigs. Their last scheduled gig for 2020 was at a local brewery. With the day bringing inclement weather, the gig was cancelled. Still wanting to play, the two headed to "HQ," better known as The Richmond House. Spignesi & Jeffery performed for the fans on Facebook live and recorded the session using Jeffery's equipment and software. The Richmond Recordings features a very raw sound between Spignesi and Jeffery. There are no overdubs or re-takes, which means that the natural sound of JSB shines through. Four of the eight songs were written in the year 2020, Jeffery having only heard them a handful of times.
